"Poplar Primary School provides a good education for all its pupils and has some outstanding features." Ofsted report 2006. Poplar Primary School is a two form entry school situated in Merton Park, close to Morden town centre. The main two storey traditional building has existed since 1932. The school is set in extensive grounds which include two playgrounds, a large field with play equipment and a ’wild’ area which is home to a variety of wildlife. The building has several new classrooms, a newly refurbished nursery, a library, ICT suite and a second hall. One of our local churches provided us with a third hard surface multi-sports area as their Millennium project. Poplar is a happy, friendly school with a dedicated team of staff, governors and parents. We aim to provide a supportive, caring environment where children from many different ethnic backgrounds can grow and learn together. Visits to the school can be arranged by contacting the admin office for an appointment to meet the Headteacher.
