Open to all schools in the borough.
Held at Old Ruts from 3.30-5.30pm.
Combined team of Year 5 & 6. Girls only.
Team of 8 (bring a squad of 10),
What do you need to bring?
Please can you bring with you your own bats and a ball.
Rules
Team 8-a-side with a maximum squad of 10
The Game One innings per team, each innings to be 8 overs long (4balls in an over)
Batting & Scoring
Batting team, bat in pairs who each face 2 overs. Each team starts with 100 runs.
Each time a batter is out, 5 runs are deducted and the other batter faces the next ball.
A batter may be out bowled, caught, run out, stumped and hit wicket.
There is no LBW unless the batter deliberately blocks the ball with a leg or foot.
Runs will be scored in the normal way.
2 runs awarded to the batting team for each no-ball and wide bowled but no extra ball unless it’s the last (8th) over when the extra ball has to be bowled again.
Bowling & Fielding
Each player on the fielding side must bowl one over.
Bowling takes place from one end. Players on the fielding side rotate fielding positions after each over. Bowling should be over arm where possible.
Underarm deliveries must only bounce once. Apart from the wicketkeeper, no fielder is allowed within 10 yards of the batter until the ball is hit.
The Result: The team with the higher score wins. In the event of a tie the team that takes more wickets wins.
Entries made after the 23rd May may not be accepted so please phone /email organisers to check if they can accommodate a late entry before booking your place.
The organiser will email all entrants around 1 week prior to the event with confirmation of event details and draw etc.
Photos and videos will be taken at the event and used by MSSP for publicity on our website and through other media. Please advise the organiser on arrival if you have any students who cannot be photographed or videoed.
