Format & Rules

  • Games will be 5 minutes long

  • Teams must try and get all opposition players out by hitting them under waist height with a ball.

  • If by the end of the 5 minutes both teams have players left in, the team with most players will be awarded the win.

  • If a team gets all of the opposite out before the end of the game, the winning teams gains 1 point onto a tally. Both teams then restart another game until the 5 minutes is up. Games keep being played until the 5 minutes is up with points being tallied. Team with the highest tally at the end of the 5 minutes will be awarded the win.

  • Play will start with a set of balls laid out in the middle of the court and players with one foot on the back line. Play begins when whistle is blown. Players must exit the ‘safe zone’ before they can throw the ball at the opposition. Any balls thrown in the initial ‘safe zone’ will not count.

  • Players must throw the dodgeballs under arm at the opposition.

  • If the ball hits a player under waist height they must walk off court and sit on team bench.

  • If a player catches a ball without it bouncing, the player who threw the ball is out. The team who caught the ball then get back ALL players who had previously been out.

  • Players cannot exit the court lines during the match, unless to retrieve a stray ball.

  • Players who are out must sit out.

  • Balls cannot be kicked.

  • Teams will be awarded 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss.

  • Any players showing foul play will be taken off court and disqualified for that match.

  • Foul play consists of: throwing the ball over arm consistently, purposely aiming at the opposition above waist height.
