Format & Rules

  • First team on pitch will take kick-off.
  • After a goal is scored there will be a restart with a centre kick by the team who did not score the goal.
  • Goalkeepers can only handle the ball in the penalty area.
  • The goalkeeper may leave the goal area however a penalty kick will be awarded against the keeper if he handles the ball outside this area.
  • Goalkeepers must distribute the ball into play with an underarm roll from anywhere in the goal area. They may not roll the ball to themselves and then kick it, such action would result in the award of a direct free kick one metre outside the penalty area in line with the position of the infringement.
  • When the goalkeeper takes a goal kick all players must be outside the goal area. If an opposing player deliberately blocks a goalkeeper’s roll by being in the goal area a free kick will be awarded.
  • Pass backs are allowed, however, an outfield player who has received a throw from a goalkeeper cannot pass the ball back directly to the goalkeeper for them to pick it up (the ball must be touched by a second outfield player). Such action would result in the award of a direct free kick one metre outside the penalty area in line with the position of the infringement.
  • Outfield players are permitted in the goal area.
  • Play is always re-started from an under-arm roll, including: goal kicks, corners and throw-ins.
  • Foul roll ins will be taken again. If the re-take is a foul roll there will be a turnover of possession. Throw ins will just go to the opposing side, corners will result in a free kick being awarded to the opposing side in the corner and goal kicks will result in a direct free kick one metre outside the penalty area in line with the position of the infringement.
  • All free kicks are direct.
  • Ball is allowed overhead height.
  • Substitutions can be made at any stage but to be kept to a minimum.
  • Children must not slide tackle.
  • No off-sides and all general FA rules apply.
  • Trainers/astro and moulded boots are allowed. No metal blades or studded boots will be permitted.
  • Shin pads are compulsory

Photo Consent

Photographs will be taken at this event by staff members from MSSP and may be used for promotional material. If you have any children that do not have permission to be photographed, please inform a member of staff before the start of the event.

First Aid

MSSP will have a basic first aid kit and qualified person at all events but staff may not be available to tend to less urgent first aid if they are preoccupied delivering the event. It is important that schools also provide their own first aid kit and qualified person to tend to their children at our events. As part of the school’s risk assessment a qualified first aider should also be with the travelling group to and from any events.

DBS

All MSSP staff at the event are enhanced DBS checked. It is the schools responsibility to ensure any staff and volunteers who attend the event comply with the host venue safeguarding and welfare policy and can provide documentation to support this on request.

REF-SPECT

MSSP values the contributions by all those involved in making our events a safe, enjoyable environment for children to take part in sport.
