On the 8^th of July children in year 5 and 6 were chosen by their schools to compete in the primary athletics competition, which took place at Wimbledon park athletics track. 

Events that children competed in were the long jump, two step jump, 80 metre sprint, 150 metre sprint, relays, discuss, shot put, javelin, and 60 metre race. With schools competing against each other Merton Park, Poplar, Malmesbury and Liberty proved victorious beating off stiff competition to win their groups.
