Sportshall Athletics Afternoon Heat

MSSP hosted the third and heat of Sportshall Athletics at Canons Leisure Centre on Friday 22nd January 2016. The afternoon heat consisted of ten schools. Every team arrived with 18 athletes (nine boys and nine girls). Each competitor had to take part in two track (relays/races) and two field (throws/jumps) events. All of the scores from each event would contribute to the school’s overall total so it was essential that every individual did their utmost to gain points for their team. All schools arrived looking ready and eager to go.

Sportshall Athletics Morning Heat

MSSP hosted the second heat of Sportshall Athletics at Canons Leisure Centre on Friday 22nd January 2016. The morning heat consisted of ten schools. Year 5/6 Sportshall Athletics

Due to popular demand an additional MSSP Sportshall Athletics competition took place at Canons Leisure Centre on Friday 13 January 2017. Nine schools arrived looking enthusiastic, energetic and eager to get underway.

Teams arrived with 18 athletes (nine boys and nine girls). Each competitor had to take part in two track (relays/races) and two field (throws/jumps) events. All of the scores from each event would contribute to the school’s overall total so it was essential that every individual did their utmost to gain points for their team.

Year 5/6 Best Team Football Borough Finals

On Thursday 1st December sixteen schools from across Merton competed in the Year 5/6 Best Team Football Competition held at Tooting and Mitcham FC. The schools had all qualified from their cluster round by finishing in the top 4. Therefore, it was already a fantastic achievement for all those involved to reach this stage.

After a short briefing regarding rules, format of the day and most importantly our REFSPECT campaign all teams were ready and raring to go.

MSSP Y5/6 Tag Rugby Finals

On a sun drenched Thursday 11th February the stage was set for this year’s Y5/6 Tag Rugby Borough Finals at Tooting and Mitcham FC. 16 qualifying teams from around the borough competed in the event with each of them finishing in the top four of their Cluster’s Tag Rugby competition that were held earlier in the school year. The tournament was also supported by Old Ruts RFC who kindly allowed the children to use their giant inflatable throwing wall to hone their passing skills during breaks in play.

Merton Borough Swimming Gala Finals

The Merton School Sport Partnership Primary Swimming Gala Finals took place on Friday 26th June 2015 at Morden Park Swimming Pools.

Two qualifying heats had been held prior to this event with the fastest 6 swimmers in each of the events invited to compete in the finals. This year’s heats saw some breaking times, meaning the finals would be edge of your seat entertainment!

MSSP Borough Rounders Finals

The Merton School Sports Partnership held its annual Year 5 & 6 Primary Rounders Competition on Thursday 25th June 2015 at Raynes Park School Playing Fields: 16 primary schools from across the borough took part in this event. During the morning, teams competed in leagues games in order to determine which qualifying games they would play during the afternoon.
