MSSP Y5/6 Tag Rugby Finals

On a sun drenched Thursday 11th February the stage was set for this year’s Y5/6 Tag Rugby Borough Finals at Tooting and Mitcham FC. 16 qualifying teams from around the borough competed in the event with each of them finishing in the top four of their Cluster’s Tag Rugby competition that were held earlier in the school year. The tournament was also supported by Old Ruts RFC who kindly allowed the children to use their giant inflatable throwing wall to hone their passing skills during breaks in play.

Merton Borough Swimming Gala Finals

The Merton School Sport Partnership Primary Swimming Gala Finals took place on Friday 26th June 2015 at Morden Park Swimming Pools.

Two qualifying heats had been held prior to this event with the fastest 6 swimmers in each of the events invited to compete in the finals. This year’s heats saw some breaking times, meaning the finals would be edge of your seat entertainment!

MSSP Borough Rounders Finals

The Merton School Sports Partnership held its annual Year 5 & 6 Primary Rounders Competition on Thursday 25th June 2015 at Raynes Park School Playing Fields: 16 primary schools from across the borough took part in this event. During the morning, teams competed in leagues games in order to determine which qualifying games they would play during the afternoon.

MSSP Year 5/6 Tag Rugby Borough FINALS

On the Thursday 12th of February the stage was set for the Y5/6 Tag Rugby Borough Finals at Wimbledon High School Sports Field. 16 teams from around the borough competed in the event with each team qualifying for the finals by finishing in the top four of their Cluster’s Tag Rugby competition. The competition attracted some real celebrity interest with the worshipful, the Mayor of the Borough of Merton, Councillor Agatha Akyigyina in attendance as well as surprise visit from Harley and Charley (the Harlequins mascots).

Merton Borough High 5 Netball Finals

The Merton Borough High 5 Netball Finals took place on Thursday 28th January at Wimbledon Park netball courts. The top four schools from each cluster arrived ready to compete to become the Merton Borough High 5 Netball Champions!

The schools were split into four groups, all depending on which place they finished in their cluster round. The groups were as follows:

Pool A: St Teresa's, Bishop Gilpin, Hillcross, St Thomas of Canterbury

Pool B: Hatfeild, Garfield, Abbotsbury, St Mary's

MSSP Year 5/6 Best Team Football Borough FINALS

On Thursday 4th December, the MSSP hosted the Year 5/6 Best Team Football FINALS at Tooting & Mitcham FC. The Best Team FINALS is always a much anticipated event and this year was no different. 16 teams qualified from the four cluster tournaments and arrived on a cold and overcast morning in eager anticipation. We were fortunate enough to be able to run the event alongside Fulham FC who provided the referees, a trailer in which to play FIFA and additional trophies for Leadership, Fair Play, Team Spirit and a Keepy-Uppy champion.
