The Morden B Team football festival took place on Thursday 25th April 2019. Thank you to the seven schools who were still able to attend since the previous postponement in January due to the icy conditions on the Harris Academy Astro-turf facilities.
The 'Morden Year 3 & 4 Football Festival' took place on the afternoon of Wednesday 3rd April 2019 and the 11 teams who played made it the largest and most well attended Morden Cluster event of the year so far.
The teams were split into two groups for the afternoon with games taking place over 3 pitches in a round robin format. Group 1 consisted 6 schools; Haslemere A, Liberty, Cranmer, Abbotsbury, Singlegate and St. Peter&Paul. Group 2 had 5 schools; Haslemere B, Liberty B, Morden, Malmesbury, St.Teresa’s.
The Morden Cluster Tag Rugby Tournament took place on 14th February 2019. After the frosty conditions of previous weeks, this day was never in doubt as the sunshine surrounded the Astro-turf facilities at Harris Academy Morden.
The Morden Cluster Best Team Football Tournament defied the weather to go ahead on Wednesday 21st November 2018. After two dreary days of rain and near freezing conditions, the sun decided to shine upon the Astro facilities of Harris Academy Morden for 9 teams to take part in the competition. And what a competition it turned out to be.
The Morden Cluster Girls Football Tournament took place on Thursday 8th November 2018 at the welcoming facilities of Harris Academy Morden. 10 teams attended from 9 schools across the Morden quarter and it was refreshing to see and hear a build-up of excitement as the squads with a maximum of 10 girls arrived at the AstroTurf pitches.
The Morden Cluster Hi-5 netball competition took place on a wet but wonderful Wednesday afternoon. On 17th October 2018, six teams from five schools made the journey to the courts at Harris Academy Morden School to take part in the first of the cluster’s competitive tournament of the new academic year.
Mixed teams from Abbotsbury, Liberty, Malmesbury, Singlegate and St. Teresa’s all brought pupils of 7, 8 or 9 to compete in a round-robin format with a maximum of 5 players on a court at a time.
We are back after a blistering summer break. The sun was still shining down on the first MSSP sports event of the new calendar year 2018-19.
On Thursday 27th September the Morden Cluster KS2 Cross Country Festival took place at Harris Academy Morden. Firstly a huge thank you to the sports leaders from HAMD for setting up, stewarding and supporting the event.
On Thursday, 24 May 2018, eight schools from the Morden Cluster took part in the Cluster Best Team Kwik Cricket competition. Liberty, Haslemere, St Peter & St Paul’s, Bond, St Teresa’s, Abbotsbury, Singlegate and Malmesbury arrived at Mitcham Cricket Club on a wet and cloudy morning ready and eager to play in the competition.
The Morden Cluster held its inaugural KS2 Dodgeball Competition on Thursday 19th April 2018 at Harris Academy Morden. The main emphasis of the event was participation and fun therefore no scores were taken throughout the festival.
The Morden B Team football tournament took place on Monday 5th February 2018 as five schools braved the cold winter winds and battled it out for top spot at the Harris Academy astro-turf facilities.
The competition is a great chance for schools to allow more pupils to experience tournament football as well as those who represent the Borough Final events earlier in the academic year. Schools are permitted a team of up to ten pupils for this annual six-a-side event and the schools this year did not fail to deliver some great moments!
