MSSP Year 5/6 Best Team Football 2018-19

On Friday 7th December sixteen schools from across Merton competed in the Year 5/6 Best Team Football Competition held at Tooting and Mitcham FC. The schools had all qualified from their cluster round by finishing in the top four. Therefore, it was already a fantastic achievement for all those involved to reach this stage.

After a short briefing regarding rules, format of the day and most importantly our REFSPECT campaign all teams were ready and eager to go.

Four Seasons in One Day at Netball Finals

The sun, rain, wind and finally the sun again didn’t deter our seasoned High 5 Netballers at this year’s Borough Finals. The top four teams from each cluster worked hard in the changing weather conditions throughout the borough finals.

In the group stages we saw some very close results across the courts with the children determined to do their best and work well with their team mates. With half times in every match there were plenty of rotations to ensure players tried their hand across all areas of the court.

Wimbledon Cluster High 5 Netball Competition

On Thursday 1 November, pupils from nine schools entering 16 teams into the Wimbledon Cluster Year 5/6 High 5 Netball Competition produced an enthralling competition. Once again, we were fortunate enough to host the event at Ricards Lodge with their Sports Leaders officiating all matches and helping to run the tournament.

The teams were split into four groups with schools aiming to finish in the top two places in their pools and to give them a chance to qualify for the Borough Finals representing Wimbledon.

Morden Cluster Netball Competition 2018

The Morden Cluster Hi-5 netball competition took place on a wet but wonderful Wednesday afternoon. On 17th October 2018, six teams from five schools made the journey to the courts at Harris Academy Morden School to take part in the first of the cluster’s competitive tournament of the new academic year.

Mixed teams from Abbotsbury, Liberty, Malmesbury, Singlegate and St. Teresa’s all brought pupils of 7, 8 or 9 to compete in a round-robin format with a maximum of 5 players on a court at a time.
