Raynes Park Cluster Y5/6 Tag Rugby Competition 2019-20

On Tuesday 25th February 2020, the Raynes Park Cluster Y5/6 Tag Rugby Competition took place at Old Ruts RFC. 13 teams were in attendance and split across 2 groups. A round robin format was used for the group stages and then the top 4 teams in each group would play one final game to determine the overall standings and therefore determine who would be crowned Tag Rugby Cluster Champions for 2020.

Mitcham Cluster Year 5/6 Tag Rugby Competition

The Mitcham Cluster Tag Rugby Competition took place at Harris Academy Merton on Tuesday 11th February 2020. Six schools from the cluster attended the event: William Morris, Links, St Thomas, Lonesome, Bond and Stanford. Teams started to get warmed up as soon as they arrived, squeezing in some last minute practice and discussing tactics. Once all schools arrived, they sat down to go through the afternoons schedule and rules of play.

MSSP Year 3/4 Key Steps 2 Gymnastics Competition

The MSSP Key Steps 2 Year 5/6 Gymnastics Competition took place on Friday 7th February 2020 at Canons Leisure Centre. 21 schools attended the day: Bishop Gilpin, Bond, Joseph Hood, St Thomas of Canterbury, Links, St John Fisher, Hatfeild, Benedict, Cranmer, Hillcross, Aragon, Wimbledon Park, St Mary’s, Dundonald, Merton Park, St Teresa’s, Pelham, Hollymount, Garfield, Poplar and Malmesbury.

Wimbledon Cluster Y5/6 Tag Rugby Competition

The Wimbledon Cluster Year 5/6 Tag Rugby competition kicked off at Dundonald Recreation Ground on Wednesday 5th February 2020. It was fantastic to see so many schools represented and 17 teams in total battling it out to represent Wimbledon at the borough finals. Teams were drawn into four groups with the top two teams progressing into the top eight knockout rounds while the third and fourth placed teams looked to finish as high as possible in their respective knockout rounds.

MSSP Year 5/6 KS3 Gymnastics Competition

The MSSP Key Steps 3 Year 5/6 Gymnastics Competition took place on Friday 31st January 2020 at Canons Leisure Centre. 21 schools attended the day: Bishop Gilpin, Links, St John Fisher, Hatfeild, The Priory, Benedict, Cranmer, Hillcross, Aragon, Wimbledon Park, St Mary’s, Dundonald, Singlegate, Merton Park, St Teresa’s, Pelham, Hollymount, William Morris, Garfield, Poplar and Malmesbury.

MSSP Year 5/6 Sportshall Athletics

MSSP hosted the Sportshall Athletics at Canons Leisure Centre on Friday 24th January 2019. Both heats consisted of twelve schools with every team arriving with eighteen athletes (nine boys and nine girls). Each competitor had to take part in two track (relays/races) and two field (throws/jumps) events. All of the scores from each event would contribute to the school’s overall total so it was essential that every individual did their utmost to gain points for their team. All schools arrived looking ready and eager to go.

MSSP Inclusive Boccia Championships 2020

The Merton School Sport Partnership held the annual Borough Boccia Championships on Friday 17th January 2020 at Canons Leisure Centre. This year, a record 36 teams took part eclipsing last year’s 30. The day was spilt over two sessions with 18 teams in the morning and 18 in the afternoon. For each session the teams were split into 3 groups of 6 to battle for their place in the final seeding groups made up of 6 groups of 3 teams – the first group playing for medals.

Best Team Football Finals 2019

On Friday 6th December 2019, 16 schools from across Merton competed in the Year 5/6 Best Team Football Competition held at Tooting and Mitcham FC. The schools had all qualified from their cluster round by finishing in the top four. Therefore, it was already a fantastic achievement for all those involved to reach this stage.

After a short briefing regarding rules, format of the day and most importantly our REFSPECT campaign all teams were ready and eager to go.

Wimbledon Cluster Y5/6 Best Team Football 2019

The Wimbledon Cluster Y56 Best Team Football Competition took place on the 3rd December 2019. We were treated a mild day but with the sun shining all competition long! There were 18 teams representing 10 schools in the Wimbledon Cluster, they were placed in 3 groups of 6 teams, the top four teams would qualify for the Borough Finals and represent the Wimbledon Cluster.
