On Thursday, 24 May 2018, eight schools from the Morden Cluster took part in the Cluster Best Team Kwik Cricket competition. Liberty, Haslemere, St Peter & St Paul’s, Bond, St Teresa’s, Abbotsbury, Singlegate and Malmesbury arrived at Mitcham Cricket Club on a wet and cloudy morning ready and eager to play in the competition.
Wednesday 23rd May saw twelve teams from all eleven Wimbledon schools take part in the Cluster Year 5/6 Kwik Cricket competition held at Old Ruts CC. The crowds came out to support their schools and they were not disappointed, as there was some high quality performances on show. The schools were split into two pools, playing two mini-leagues before they faced off against the school in their respective position from the other league.
On Monday 21st May, 6 teams from the Mitcham Cluster took part in the Cluster Best Team Kwik Cricket competition. Links, Lonesome, Beecholme, St Thomas, Sherwood and Stanford arrived at Mitcham Cricket Club on a beautiful sunny morning ready and eager to play in the competition.

- One innings per team, each inning to be 8 overs long (4 balls in an over).
Batting and Scoring
The MSSP Year 5 & 6 Challenge Run took place at Joseph Hood Recreation Ground throughout the afternoon of the 23rd March 2018. We were lucky enough to enjoy a sunny day with a refreshing breeze; ideal conditions for running.
As the brand new Pool at Morden Park begins to show its splendour on the local landscape, 26 Merton Primary Schools’ enjoy their final races at the current pool (which was built back in 1967).
As always the Partnership team and sports leaders from Rutlish High School arrived with flip flops and plenty of bottled water at the ready for the heated evening that was to follow. Kath, from Malmesbury, had once again done an excellent job of preparing for the event and arrive super charged and raring to go!!
On Friday 16th March 2018, sixteen primary schools from across the borough came to Merton School Sports Partnerships annual Year 5/6 Tri- Golf Competition at Wimbledon Park Golf Club. Tri-Golf is a modified version of golf that uses foam balls, a plastic putter and chipper. The competition is made up of eight stations; four putting and four chipping. The objective of the stations is to work as a team to score as many points as you can in five minutes. The winning team is the school with the greatest number of points after completing all eight stations.
On Friday 9th March 2018 The MSSP Year 5/6 Tag Rugby Borough Finals took place at Tooting and Mitcham F.C. A total of 16 teams were in attendance, with 4 teams from each of the four Merton Clusters represented. Teams were split into groups of four and would play a round robin format with the teams in their pool.
On Tuesday 6th March 2018, the Raynes Park Cluster Year 5/6 Tag Rugby Competition finally took place after being delayed by the freezing temperatures of the beast from the east the previous week. All 11 Raynes Park Cluster schools were in attendance with Poplar bringing an A and a B team. This created two pools of 6 teams, with the top two teams at the end of the group stages going through to the Borough Finals on Friday 9th March.
The Merton School Sport Partnership held its annual Key Steps 2 Year 3/4 Gymnastics Competition on Friday 23rd February 2018 at Canons Leisure Centre. Sixteen primary schools from across Merton took part in the event with two schools bringing a B team. As part of the Key Steps Gymnastics, all gymnasts compete in three different disciplines throughout the competition: Floor, Vault and Body Management. A team consists of two boys and two girls; all four gymnast’s scores are added together from each discipline to determine their team’s overall score.
