Due to popular demand, the annual Merton Primary School Swimming Gala Heats have now been split over 3 heats, with heats 1 & 2 being held on Tuesday 17th May 2016 at Morden Park Pools. 29 primary schools from across the borough have entered for the swimming heats, with 23 of these schools attending heats 1 & 2. Swimmers took part in various events; backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle and relay races. The atmosphere was incredible from start to finish as all schools cheered on their swimmers from the pool side.

Well done to all students who attended as they swam their hearts out, finishing with some very impressive times. Schools will find out whether their pupils have qualified through to the finals once Heat 3 has been completed on Tuesday 24th May. The finals will be held during the evening on Friday 24th June 2016 at Morden Park Pools.

A big thank you to all the schools that took part and for assessing their swimmers prior to the event. Also a big thank you to the year 8 sports leaders from Rutlish School for timing all the races.
