The Mitcham Cluster held its Year 3/4 Football Festival on Wednesday 13th March 2019 at St Mark’s Academy Mitcham. Eleven schools took part in this festival which mean every school in the cluster sent a team; Beecholme, Bond, Gorringe Park, Links, Lonesome, St Marks, St Thomas, Stanford, Sherwood, William Morris and Harris Primary Merton. Two leagues played across three pitches meaning teams had plenty of games. Throughout the festival teams played in high spirits with some excellent talent on display.
The standard of sportsmanship demonstrated throughout was superb. Many schools received nominations for our Refspect Award. However, St Thomas of Canterbury won the award with the majority of votes for shaking hands with the players, officials, being polite and showing good sporting etiquette.
Well done to all schools that took part in the football festival. Every team put in 100% effort with all the teachers and players being supportive throughout. Thank you St Marks Academy sports leaders for your fantastic refereeing and general support throughout the festival.
