Perseid School is a special purpose school for learners who have severe and complex learning difficulties. Pupils aged between 2-19 attend the school. Perseid is a progressive school, offering high standards of curriculum delivery and pupil achievement. In January 2006 our Ofsted inspection report noted that pupils’ personal development and wellbeing is outstanding. The school offers a range of curricular subjects, including externally accredited courses in Art, Music, Maths, Life Skills and Drama for the 14-16 year old pupils. National entitlements such as the literacy and numeracy strategies are taught in the school. In line with the pupils’ statements of special education needs, the health authority provides the therapeutic intervention in the school, in the form of physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and occupation therapy. Ofsted also observed that the ethos of the school is extremely positive and enables the pupils and students to achieve well.
